SOCIAL MEDIA & ARTS MANAGEMENT Between Tradition and Innovation

Hello World,

Anybody sharing interest in Social Media & Arts Management? In fact, I am currently writing a thesis about this topic and as part of seeking my voice, I would love to share ideas and discus related issues. Feel free to comment, criticize and suggest ideas. I will be answering.

Abstract
The development of Internet as a social media has allowed individuals to create, share and connect with each other which occasionally transforms the cultural production process from centralized to distributed one. This development is linked to complex societal transformation from the post-industrial society towards the age of networks and social production. Whereas arts management traditionally differentiates between production of the arts and consumption the artists’ work. A third approach, presented in this thesis dissolves the distinction and focuses on the convergence of cultural production and consumption in where participants are becoming active co-creators of artistic experiences. The conceptual development seeks to understand the ongoing shift as a symptom of bigger movement towards connectivity, where art worlds and their managers can be organized through collective collaboration with communities. As part of the process the development fundamentally challenge the way in which sector professionals see their role in relation to their audiences.
