Can democracy work in the gallery space...

Can democracy work in a gallery space, that's the question which we are setting out to answer with our digital exhibition DEMOCRACY, which will form part of this years Design Event 09, the North East Design Festival.

Social Media Plan

At the end of the Communicating the Museum conference in Malaga I think most people left with intention of writing a Social Media Plan, but where do you begin? I put together this guide last night for conference deligates: http://www.museummarketing.co.uk/?p=151

It isn't the finished article and I'd love to hear any comments you have about how I can improve it.

Hi Jim,

So I left a message on your note about the museum asking for help with their social media plan. I'm actually working on putting together a social media plan for the museum that I'm interning at right now. To work up towards it I'm concentrating my master's thesis on the subject by carrying out a mass online survey of American museums currently using or are interested in using social media as a type of communication tool. The survey will be looking into effectiveness, measurement, time and tactics of social media use for museums.

I'll also be doing a few in depth personal interviews with practitioners working with social media - looking for suggestions on how to create a social media plan for a medium size museum that will be in some shape measurably effective.

That having been said, I was wondering if you might be interested or will have the time later this month for me to interview you on the topic?

My email is Adriennefletcher@ufl.edu

Let me know how you feel!

cheers
Adrienne
