Museum 3

what will the museum of the future be like?

Does anyone know of any museums who have demographic stats on who is following them on Twitter?

I am wondering primarily about the proportion of museum professionals/students to general public.

The Mirador Interactive Museum (MIM) of Santiago, Chile is in twitter: @MIM_Museo. I'm pretty sure they do keep record of their social network (they also have a profile page in Facebook: http://bit.ly/duct2y ). MIM's website is http://www.mim.cl
MIM is a very young museum (opened in 2000) and is the most visited museum in the country even when it is located way far from the most active areas of the city. Its focus is on arts, science and technology and is basically an educational centre. Unfortunately the website is in Spanish only but I'd be happy to help reach any information you or the other members would like to have. I'm not a member/employee of the museum, but a big admirer of their work.
Hope this helped in any way!

Alejandra

If the MIM have done this i'd be really interested to hear about the results, but I have a feeling this isn't something that they, or possibly any museums, have done yet.
Best,
