What do you think of our curator-led blog?

Here at Museum Victoria we have been undertaking a project called World Heritage, World Futures since November 2009. As the Assistant Curator on the project it has been part of my role to maintain the project blog - http://museumvictoria.com.au/reb/about-us/world-heritage-world-futu...

The project began with an archaeological dig of the western forecourt of the Royal Exhibition Building (which is Victoria's only world heritage listed building) and now moves onto installing 900,000 litres of water storage and then a reinstatement of the 1880 German Garden.

I'm interested to see what people think about the content & style of the blog, and suggestions on what you might like to see up there.

Hi Megan-

I really like the blog. I think the colors are visually stunning and the pieces are interesting and short enough that would likely ensure regular page views by readers. Great job!

Thanks for posting this Megan! I love the idea of a curator's blog. I'll be curious to see how people respond and follow it as the project develops. I think museums can take it even further by using the blog platform to research future exhibits and programs, and how their audiences and communities might respond. You've given me some great ideas, thanks again!

Thanks to both of you for having a look and telling me what you think! I think this particular blog might not be suited to researching exhibits or programs (as it is a specific project that was pre-planned), but I hope to see more and more use of forums such as this to enable public input into exhibition ideas and development. Jessica, can you point me towards any Australian examples of this?
