what will the museum of the future be like?

Museum Websites and Audience Research

Hi,

I am an Assistant Professor of Design at the American University of Sharjah. I am looking for examples of Museum website audience research initiatives. Would you be able to provide me with your institution's audience survey(s) in regard to your website or know how I can gain access to these types of surveys to be used as a model(s)? I am also interested in seeing the questionnaires. Please let me know at your earliest convenience.

Most of this, as I'm sure you know, is hard to get disclosure on. I have much of this kind of research, I'm afraid it's all under NDA. Can you send me a little more information about what you intend to use the information for, and I'll try to arrange something with one of the museums / foundations we work with?

Hi RJ,

Thank you for your response. The primary reason for this request is that I will be conducting a survey with the help of my students for a museum on how their website might better fulfill the needs of their audience as well as their institutional goals. As a result, I am looking for questionnaires and surveys that have addressed museum web initiatives. I understand that what I am asking for is not generally given out to the public by museums and as a result would respect any stipulation that an institution had in providing the information. I appreciate your time and consideration.

Hi! I conducted a survey a year ago looking at museum web accessibility at nine different museums worldwide. The dissertation was my final part of a masters in museum studies.
