Museum 3

what will the museum of the future be like?

Hi everyone... I'm just about to commence an MA in Arts Management and Policy at Birkbeck College here in London and am planning to specialise in digital engagement strategies for museums as the focus of my study. Would love to meet other Museum 3.0'ers to discuss or compare notes. If you're interested you can contact me through this site or at long.pat@gmail.com...
All the best

Hi Paul and welcome to our network. You've spurred me into organising another meetup! How would 2nd, 3rd or 4th November be for you? If one suits then I'll sort out a venue and invite our UK members! In the meantime, you might be interested in this strategy recently released by the Smithsonian.

2, 3 or 4th all would be great. Look forward to meeting offline!
Haven´t read it yet but he PHM has recently released a strategy plan for the museum: http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/dmsblog/index.php/2009/09/16/a-new-...
Great tip, thanks for the link!
I'm just about to post an announcement about the UK Museums Computer Group conference - we usually have drinks the evening of or before the conference. The conference itself is on December 2nd, at the V&A.
I forgot to come back and post about the UK MCG web conference but the museums computer group list (http://www.museumscomputergroup.org.uk/) list might be a good place to meet more locals.
Hi,

Is this by any chance ex-Emap-er Pat Long??

I don't know if you remember me from Emap Digital (I worked with John Mullen et al on the Q/Mojo/Smash Hits websites?) Funnily enough, I'm also doing an MA in Cultural Policy and Arts Management, but back on the 'aul sod at University College Dublin. And I'm also interested in digital strategies for audience development...!! Ireland's museums & galleries are pretty patchy on this front, so I'm keen to see what possibilities might lie ahead and base my thesis around a (hopefully) useful study (still undetermined).

Would love to discuss notes etc, and hear what you're up to!

All best,

Anne Mullee
