Experiences / Thoughts on live-video stream in exhibitions?

Hi! FRida & freD Children’s Museum in Austria and UNIZUL Science Centre in South Africa are cooperating to create an exhibit whereby young visitors at both institutions can communicate with via a live video-stream.

The exhibit will be called “Window to the World” and will hopefully help foster intercultural understanding.

Has anyone done / seen something similar before? Any tips on didactic or technical issues? Software recommendations are also welcome! Thanks!
