American Doctoral Student Seeks Help with Research Project

Hello All,

My name is Porchia Moore. I am a doctoral student at the University of South Carolina in the School of Library and Information Science.  I was awarded a fellowship where we examine the value of cultural heritage institutions. I am very interested in the subject of Museum 2.0.  I have been reading about this subject for the past semester and seek to write my dissertation around the issue.  I am writing to see if you all would be willing to share some ideas and information with me regarding the following:

1. What are museum professionals attitudes towards the use of social media within the museum space?
2. What hard research ( a link to data would be excellent) is being conducted regarding the relationship between museum visitor experience and the use of social media?
3. How are museum professionals mining the information/feeedback/interaction provided by online visitors?
4. What research is available regarding museum professionals attitudes towards the use of social media within the museum space?
5. What advice can you give me about how to shape/design a research project which would involve looking at what museums do with the information that they gleam from social media?
